In the summer of 2013, the Boy Scouts of America will be holding the next National Boy Scout Jamboree at the Summit Betchel Family National Scout Reserve. This is a great chance for Boy Scouts. Our council will be sending three troops made up of boys from different troops throughout the council. Unfortunately, the registration deadline is July 1st, so if you would like to register you need to do so ASAP. To register and for more information, visit http://www.boyscouting.com/jamboree.asp. Several of our scouts have gone in the past and can attest to what a great and fun experience this is. Thank You, Joshua Judge |

This Thursday we will be holding our annual swim test at the Temple Terrace Rec Center at 5:40 p.m. The swim test is required before scouts can participate in any Scouting aquatics activities, like our tubing trip at Rainbow River Springs and our canoeing trip over spring break. The swim test has to be completed annually, so even if you completed it last year, you need to do it again on Thursday. Thank You, Joshua Judge

Scouts and Parents, This month we have lots of exciting activities planned! First off, we would like to welcome our new Cub Scout crossovers from Pack 188 to Troop 120. For March and April we will be working on the aviation merit badge. Events this month: March 4-6 we have Mini-Camp at Flaming Arrow where our primary merit badge focus will be Orienteering, March 7 will be the last day for Board of Reviews for the upcoming Court of Honor and will be Pack 120's Cub Scout crossover. On March 18-20, we will have the Fantasy of Flight camp-out. Note: this is only for the new scouts. On the 28 we will have a Court of Honor. April 1-2 we have the camp-out at Scout Park to work on basic advancements with the crossovers. April 15-16 is the Relay for Life at Greco Middle School. Remember: in order to participate you must raise at least 100 dollars. All of the scouts should have set up their Relay for Life online accounts during the meetings, which can be accessed here. These can be used to send emails requesting donations and for tracking your current donations. If you have not set one up or have a problem, please contact me. We have decided that for our Spring Break Camp-out (April 27-May 1) we will be canoeing in the Ten-Thousand Islands. For more information about any of these events, visit our calendar page. March 7 will be the last day for Board of Reviews before the upcoming Court of Honor (March 28). Also, I have been asked to remind you the procedures for requesting Board of Reviews: You should talk to your patrol leader about one at least a week in advance. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at joshjudg@gmail.com. Thanks! Joshua Judge Troop Scribe |

Scouts and Parents, Welcome to the new year! This year we have a lot of new and exciting stuff to do. We just finished a very cold week of merit badges and rank advancements
at winter camp (22 degrees at night) and we would like to thank all of
those adults who gave up their own time to drive or to stay with us
there. Yesterday, the 31st, was the last day to complete the four
Centennial badges (tracking, pathfinding, carpentry, and signaling). If
you completed your carpentry project before midnight, December 31, you
can bring it to the meeting on Monday, so you can get it signed off. On the 10th we will have a parents meeting at 6:30. This month's theme is camping, so we will be hiking 25 miles on the Florida Trail, on the 15th through the 17th. Throughout the month we will be preparing for this trip. Since there is no school on the 17th, we will not be having a meeting that day. On the 29th we will be having a roadside cleanup, with a hot breakfast like last time. For more information about upcoming events, please visit the calendar page on our website. If you have any questions, please email me at joshjudg@gmail.com. Thank You, Joshua Judge Troop Scribe |
